ONGOING PROJECTS RUN BY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY COSTA RICA

Currently, Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica is working in various regions of the country to help solve the country’s housing problems.

Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica is currently working in two community development projects, in addition to the construction  of individual houses that is in process.

The Organization serves as a catalyst, supporting small projects that are proposed by and beneficial to the community. One such project is Las Rosas in Santa Rosa de Oreamuno of Cartago, where 22 houses have already been built. An international volunteer lives in Santa Rosa, teaching English to children, youth and adults, as well as supporting a variety of projects that address the needs of the community. These projects include a hydroponics microenterprise, a recycling program and the installation of a new playground.

The second project is called Abanico and is located in Chachagua of San Carlos, where the completed project will consist of 58 prefabricated houses and measure of 42 square meters.

Abanico Project is in the process of reaching out to community leaders, who are organizing committees to identify the needs of the community.

Subsequent to its construction, we will also be developing the Valle Escondido Project in San Ramon of Alajuela and Lagunilla Project in Santa Cruz of Guanacaste, using the slogan of Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica "More than houses, as an integral concept.
