ONGOING PROJECTS RUN BY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY COSTA RICA
Currently, Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica is working in various regions of the country to help solve the country’s housing problems, such as in Santa Rosa de Oreamuno in the province of Cartago, Where 22 houses were built, which will be given to the families on 1st March. Moreover, in San Isidro de Peñas Blancas in the canton of San Ramon, we are constructing 58 houses for Project Abanico. Both projects are being developed using prefabricated materials.
The brigade led by Alice Miller and 9 more Americans supported the construction of a prefabricated housing from 49 square meters in Monteverde. The experience was very successful and the house is almost complete.
However, as Habitat for Humanity does not only build homes, but rather also helps to develop communities, we will begin work on a project in the El Carmen School in La Suiza de Turrialba Scottsdale brigade composed of 9 people worked to fix the roof, add a wooden ceiling in the corridor and wash, sand and paint the outside of the building. We will also paint the classrooms and add a drainage channel and a gutter, which will help to avoid landslides.
