Habitat for Humanity Participates in the Reconstruction Process
The Housing Ministry, under the authority of this ministry, Luis Fernando Salazar solicits Habitat for humanity Costa Rica, together with Fuprovi and the Foundation for Costa Rica- Canada to construct a temporary shelter for the more than 2000 people affected by the earthquake on January 8th, 2009.
The areas that have been most affected, according to the statistics gathered by the government, are: San Miguel de Sarapiquí, Fraijanes, y Poasito de Alajuela.
Providing the victims of the earthquake with housing is one of the government’s top priorities.
Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica has found 27 lots in Guaria of Puerto Viejo, in Sarapiquí, and has 20 homes that have already been built in Chachagua. We ask all those interested in donating to the reconstruction of the damaged zone to help us collect resources in order to pay for the plots of land, which are valued at between $7000 and $10000 (depending on the area) and the houses at a cost of $12000.
Those interested can reach Jeimy Gamboa at the email address: jgamboa@habitatcostarica.org, or by telephone at: 2296-3430 Ext. 202
